PT, DPT, CWS, COMT with Tri-City Medical Center
Alona Stein, PT, DPT, CWS, COMT has been a doctor of physical therapy for over 16 years with a manual therapy centered approach to treating her patients and a specialization in pelvic health/pelvic floor dysfunction. Alona is also a mom of two girls, and after the birth of her second child in 2017, she was interested in finding a fun, yet safe, exercise program to help her get stronger and feel like herself again. Through her attendance at various fitness classes which are aimed at the post-partum woman, Alona realized that there is a lack of education on the part of the people teaching the exercise classes regarding the profound changes that a woman goes through with pregnancy and childbirth, and many of the exercises being recommended were inappropriate, and, at times, unsafe.
As a specialist in pelvic floor dysfunction, Alona works closely with women who have issues post-partum, including, but not limited to: diastasis rectus abdominus, pelvic pain, urinary incontinence, and pelvic organ prolapse. Taking these issues into account, Alona wanted to create a fitness program that was fun yet challenging, and effective yet safe, for the post-partum woman.
Alona designed the Mi Baby & Me Program at Tri-City Wellness & Fitness Center. She is also available for appointments through Tri-City Medical Center Physical Therapy, located inside Tri-City Wellness and Fitness Center with a physician referral.
