Pilates for Hikers
As we shift our clocks, see longer days and feel the sunshine, we are looking towards spending more time outdoors. Hiking is a great activity and we are fortunate to have a abundance of hiking opportunities in North County. Pilates is great for hikers, it strengthens our muscles needed to navigate the hills, variety of terrain, and endurance. Whether you are looking for a short hike or planning a summer hiking trip, Pilates a great way to prepare.
For hiking we need to have strong hips, glutes, quadriceps, hamstrings, calves, ankles, feet, and core. There are a variety of Pilates exercises that strengthen these muscles and address good balanced functional movement.
We offer a variety of Pilates mat classes in the Mind Body Studio: Gentle Pilates, Pilates Basics, All Levels and Pilates/Yoga Fusion. Our Pilates studio offers private, semi private and small group training on the Reformer, Cadillac and Stability Chairs.
