Congratulations, Sonia Andersen!

“I started my journey at Tri-City Fitness and Wellness Center around nine years ago. Many years of playing social and competitive tennis have left me with neck and shoulder injuries that made it too painful to continue playing tennis. Tennis was my main physical exercise and I played it almost everyday. It was (and still is) very hard not to play as I used to. I believe that being healthy and being active are a unit. Small steps everyday, even half an hour, really make a difference both mentally and physically. Tri-City Fitness has empowered me with the tools to overcome my injuries, and given me self-confidence. I have gotten a lot stronger physically doing classes (Yoga, Zumba, Pilates, etc.) and by working with a personal trainer at Tri-City.

I never liked to workout at a gym before. Tri-City is the first gym I have ever joined, and have since shared with my family, who are now part of the Tri-City family. I’m grateful to be part of this Wellness and Fitness Center. The friendly staff and the smiles from other members make me feel happy and welcomed everyday that I go to the gym.

My positive experience at Tri-City encourages me to do the things I really enjoy doing. I’m an adventurous person, and I love the outdoors. Hiking is my new passion. Four years ago I became a member of a global community of Peakers called MPC, which stands for My Peak Challenge. Through this group I have learned to do long distance hiking, groups walks, and traveled to different countries. We have gatherings, and we support and encourage each other, through physical and emotional challenges. The MPC community encourages me in my new found passion of long distance hiking. This passion requires endurance and strength and motivates me to continue my workouts at Tri-City, where I am always encouraged and supported.

My mantra is: ‘My age is just a number. Find your passion and challenge yourself. Small steps everyday.
It’s what I can do with the time that has been given to me.'”
