Medical Integration

The Medical Integration programs (Mi) at Tri-City Wellness & Fitness Center in Carlsbad were created to fill the gap which exists after a client completes a Physical Therapy or Rehabilitation program, providing a continuum of care through monitored small group fitness training and education. Clients can also request a Medical Integration program referral from their physician. Tri-City Wellness & Fitness Center Mi membership provides customized programming to enhance the client’s health, fitness, and wellness lifestyle.

Medical Integration Options

The Medical Integration team oversees all programs, utilizing the expertise of Tri-City Wellness & Fitness Center’s staff and Tri-City healthcare community. We have expanded our innovative Mi programs with services designed specifically for those living with or recovering from life changing diseases, surgeries, or injuries. We also have programs built for those simply desiring to improve their well-being. Our programs include exercise solutions specifically designed for, but not limited to: cardiac events, diabetes, cancer, orthopedic recovery, and Parkinson’s Disease. The Medical Integration program includes tailored, expertly supervised exercise programs, nutrition education, expert speakers, strategies for lifestyle modification. Participants complete a Health History Questionnaire, risk assessment, and be cleared by their physician before starting any Mi program. Assessments are ongoing and completed at regular intervals to monitor progress.

Parkinson’s Disease

We offer something of profound importance for those with Parkinson’s: evidence-based exercise designed to slow the progression of Parkinson’s disease. Specialized group training sessions led by nationally certified trainers focus on balance, strength, and gait. These group training sessions end with a time to utilize the recumbent bikes, which have been shown to reduce the effects of Parkinson’s in the walking gait by 30%. We offer Dance for Parkinson’s, Mi Neuro, Shadowboxing, and Mobility & Stability classes weekly as part of a Medical Integration membership at Tri-City Wellness & Fitness Center. Mi Neuro: Parkinson’s has created a community which empowers its members and creates  an opportunity to find friends and support, enjoy exercise classes, become educated on the importance of nutrition, and most of all – have fun!

Beginning Your Workout Journey

Tri-City Wellness & Fitness Center’s Mi Strength program is also ideal for anyone who has not participated in a fitness program recently. Our nationally certified training team provides a safe environment for those who are new to exercise to begin their journey. Mi Strength provides expert support combined with proper training which enables members to take their first steps toward improved health and wellness.
