March ’19 Member of the Month: Joan Silver Member of the Month, News & Events

Congratulations to Joan, a ten year member!

“Being active has always been an important part of my life. I’ve explored many avenues to achieving the best health possible. Most gyms were places to spend energy, but without much joy. What they had to offer was designed for clientele decades younger than I am.”

Her Story:

“Ten years ago, a friend and I decided to try TCWC, in the hope of finding something more than just another place to exercise. We found this facility different. It offered more.  It offered a variety of classes that were suitable for all ages. The Center staff, instructors, and EVS personnel go out of their way to be friendly and accommodating. I am participating in classes that include ways to improve balance, promote good brain function, and other activities important for seniors.

Tri-City Wellness & Fitness Center has impacted my life in many positive ways. It has been my senior center, my social life, and of course my health. The members are a virtual United Nations. I’ve become friends with people who have come here from all over the world. All interesting. It seems we are all the same, while being different. This feeling of being connected brings me joy. I’ve discovered that a smile, or word of encouragement, will bring me a new friend.  Being a quilter, I made this quilt for a friend. It expresses how I feel about the humanity that reside at TCW&FC.” (Quilt shown above)
