Sept 29 Fall Nocturnal Animals Week 1
Oct 6 Sports Week 2
Oct 13 Music Week 3
Oct 20 Pumpkin Patch Week 4
Oct 27 Halloween Week 5
We have a fun month planned for October. Sports week have your child wear your favorite sports team shirt while playing with us in KIM. Music week: we may have a surprise visitor come join us one morning to play some instruments for us. Day and time to be announced. And the best part… Halloween week wear your costumes, or fun t-shirts any day that week. Please no masks, or weapons (ex: swords, light sabres etc). Staff will be wearing costumes, nothing too scary though, just fun and lively.
Child Development in the play kitchen expands a child’s vocabulary. Children use words such as: “hot, cold, plate, cup, fork, bread, cupcake.” Dramatic play in the kitchen also promotes social skills. Children determine who will play what role in the scenario. Ideas such as who will be the cook, or the waiter or waitress. Fine Motor Skill Development is practiced as well. Children can practice their fine motor skills by picking up small pieces of food (most kitchens come with accessories including food, utensils and dishes) and then placing them onto plates and cups. Kitchens have knobs that can be turned. Children use their whole hand or fingers to turn knobs and pull open drawers.
Childcare is open Thursday, October 31, from 8am-1pm only.
During Thanksgiving week, infant care reservations can always be requested through MindBody Online or App up to 14 days in advance. Reservations will be required for “ALL” ages Monday 11/25 thru Fri 11/29 and can be made up to 14 days in advance as well (starting November 11). The childcare desk can be reached at 760.931.3133.
We are open Thanksgiving Day Thursday November 28 from 8am to 12pm.
Yoga for Kids
Join us on Wednesdays from 4-5pm and Saturdays from 9-10am in the Conference Room (Saturday, 10.5.19 Class Cancelled) for Kid’s Yoga! Children from 5 through 12 years old are invited to join in the fun and benefits of Yoga class. Yoga can offer children better focus, improved flexibility, more energy, less stress and increased self esteem. And…it’s fun. Saturday class theme is STEM for September and October- a themed activity or craft will be done at the end of class! Yoga Meets Science is an 8-week class that marries hands-on science experiments with yoga practice, allowing children to learn about themselves and the world around them.
Friends can participate for a $6 fee. (Friend’s parent must remain on site). Please bring your own yoga mat.
