Bringing Awareness

April is commonly accepted as Parkinson’s Awareness Month. According to the Parkinson’s Association of San Diego, “San Diego is home to 60,000 people with Parkinson’s.”

Tri-City Wellness and Fitness Center offers Mi Neuro for Parkinson Disease (PD) which is a comprehensive medically integrated program. Our program provides a sense of community for our participants and is a critical resource for individuals with PD. The main objective of our team of Certified Fitness Specialists is to deliver a program that is comprised of PD specific strength training, balance and coordination exercises, along with a forced cadence cycling program. This, combined with dance classes, chair yoga, Tai Chi, and warm water pools help participants feel better, grow stronger improve balance, improve quality of life and slow the progression of PD.
